A long weekend in Portugal is always a good idea, especially when looking at interior design and architecture. I knew very little about Lisbon, or about Portugal in general when I first arrived. But, after I left I gained a new appreciation for all the special ideas Lisbon has to offer in the design world! Lisbon has a great ceramics culture where you can find a variety of shops focusing on that, along with many other home décor stores. Here I am to save you some time wandering up and down the hills of Lisbon by showing you four amazing home décor stores.
Gaivota Citadina
This ceramics shop is located in the heart of Alfama. Within this shop you will find a great selection of hand painted dinner wear, vases, and home décor. All ceramics are made in Portugal.
ChiCoracao, 4
One of the six stores located in Lisbon, this one focuses in on handcrafted textiles all made in Portugal. Accumulating a collection of colorful throw pillows and blankets, these add a great deal of warmth to your home.
Olaria de Sao Pedro
Though this store is located in Sintra, and not Lisbon, I still wanted to include this into the collection. The shop gathers statement home pieces made from a variety of small artists focusing on the ceramics side of art. They are colorful and will be sure to add a slice of Portugal to your home.
ChiCoracao, 40
This is the same franchise as the one mentioned above, but it entails a completely different concept. It is another store focusing on a collection of small artists, except it involves wall art made from various textiles and materials. They are unique and will add a bit of contrast to a neutral room.
