As an interior design undergrad here in Paris, France, I wanted to pick up something new while I'm here. Not just in Paris, but travelling all over Europe and the rest of the world. Something unique, but relevant. That is when I came up with the idea of finding one of a kind, local or handmade home décor pieces wherever I am. Though I have been here for a month, being a full time student is no joke! I finally had time to get out of my neighborhood and explore some more of Paris. Let me tell you, there are some amazing stores out there. Here are some of the best ones I found on my afternoon stroll the other day, and I am excited to find even more during my time here!
Luv Box
One of the first stores I came across while moving here, Luv Box. This is located just a few minutes away from me, and every time I pass it it fills my heart with joy. When I made the time to stop inside, I found that they have an adorable dried flower collection year round. I happened to stop around Valentine's Day, hence the more pink and red flower collection. As I spoke to the employees, they said that after Valentines Day they keep up a "design your own dried flower bouquet". I am one who can't keep up with real flowers, and feel awful when I let them die, so dried flowers are my favorites!
Green Cocoon
On my way to school every day, I would look inside this store and be so intrigued. Usually, I would be running late so I couldn't stop in, and then after school it is closed. One day I planned it perfectly to check it out beforehand. I went in and had a conversation with the owner, who quit his job as an engineer to pursue this dream instead. He makes lamps out of ecosystems. They are one of a kind and beautiful for your home!
Phillipe Model Maison
The bright and playful colors in this store window was an obvious sign I needed to stop in to take a look! For all you eclectic and maximalist decorators out there this store is calling your name! Specializing in woven chairs with different sizes, heights, and color schemes, adding a subtle pop to your home with a piece from this store is a no brainer.
La Petite Boutique
Right across from the Seine, this boutique home décor store has such an amazing vibe to it inside. With the perfect balance of vintage and modern, decorating your home with these pieces would be an ease. The mirrors in this store were my personal favorite, they had statement mirrors but also small decorative ones as well.
Gallerie J.C. Martinez
This antique poster and print store has everything when it comes to wall art. Any theme or design idea you can think of, this store has it, but in an antique fashion! His prints come in a variety of sizes as well.
Jules Pansu
A store dedicated to pillow covers is what Jules Pansu is. They have many different styles, colors, and themes to choose from. The quality is over the top and they come in a variety of sizes! If you are one to always switch home décor, this store is for you!
Datcha
Another store located across the Seine, and Neighbors with La Petite Boutique, this store dedicated to kitchenware and tabletop décor will make you rethink the way you design your kitchen. With fun, bright patterns, these vases and ceramic pieces will be sure to spice up your space!
